I just got a phone call from an old college aquaintance that went a little something like this:
T: Hey, I’ve got something really wierd to tell you.
Me: Oh, what?
T: Um . . . are you on eharmony?
Me: Um, yes . . . are you on eharmony?
T: Yeah.
Me: . . . Did you just get me as a match?
T: Yeah.
Me: Wow . . . I’m totally going to copy and paste your profile onto Facebook.
T: I will kill you.
It was mildly awkward, since this guy went out with my college roomate for about two years. But mostly we just laughed it off and joked that if this was eharmony’s idea of true love, then maybe we were barking up the wrong tree. I was kind of wondering when I would come across someone I knew as an eharmony match, but I’m glad that when it happened it was more funny than creepy. Here’s to hoping that this is the wierdest it will get!
